This is no doubt a dumb question, but hey I'm not exactly a mechanic. Looking to install a CD changer in my new 2003 Taurus. I know the radio is in the trunk on the drivers side behind the carpet.

The question is how do I remove the carpet to get access to it. I removed the plastic pin in the middle of the panel. Can't get it the carpet out far enough though to get access.

What's the trick here?

Thanks!

the trick is to simply have no love for your car.. when you learn that trick you'll just tear all the carpet out and realize it is unharmed.

theres a bunch of black plastic pins in several places that attach the carpet to the trunk, just pull as many of these out in the places that you need and you should be able to pull the carpet free.

There are like three or four plastic pins holding the carpet on in that area. Take a look at my garage mods for the mod named "RCU". It's a pic of the RCU unit in the trunk.
