It's sad to see the old car go, and be forced to get rid of it. I am sure you will be happy with your gen4, but if you're like me, you will always miss the old car. I still miss my 89' Escort GT and I got rid of that in 96'. Congrats on the new car though.

I think this years G4 has the MAF integrated into the airbox, so it may be more difficult to but a CAI on it and drown it. You have me worried about my intake setup now.

:lol2: i'll always be a gen3 girl!! expecially now that they make nothing for my new car yet, and the euro tail lights i wanted for the 2000-03. won't fit a 2004, i already asked. :( and i was all excited darnit!! what the heck is up with the MAF being in the box???? i guess i have to sell my CAI now. there is no way i could use it hua? and no way am i giving them my Sable rims!! even though sears ruined them, im still putting them on this car. one set for winter and one set for summer. plus i just got brand new tires. i took everything off my car. so i have TONS of stuff to sell. i'll make a thread on what i'm selling later, after i figure out prices and stuff. when i get all sad about my old car leaving, my hubbie just keeps saying, "what happened when you pushed the gas pedal in the new car?!?!" lol! that test drive was the first time i drove a duratec. WHHEEEE.. have i been missing out!!

If the CAI was part of the reason you are in this predicament, why would you want to put it back on your new car?

The CAI has little to do with it. The factory snorkel doesn't sit much higher than the CAI. The car was driven into deep water... I think it's pretty likely that it would have been FUBAR with or without the CAI.

well, i was gonna put on the CAI up really high, or in the engine compartment. as a HAI. but the hubbie is saying that i can not touch nothing in this engine. so, i can't use it because of the MAF being in the air box? the sensor is in the airbox? that sucks. maybe i'll sell it now. the only thing so far i don't like about this car is the gaugues. i don't like seeing the mph being in 20's. takes too much to figure out what speed your doing. so. does anyone know if they sell anything for this car yet?

I dunno... but if youre selling your g3 gagues, PM me! :p

Why not put all your neons and stuff into this new car instead of selling them?
yeah i'm selling the white faced gauges. i'm not selling any neons. i'm waiting for my post in the for sale thread to be approved. there is a whole list of things in there. i'm also selling 2 brand new in the boxes o2 sensors. (Bosch). for the 2 on the bottom of the car. i know you needed new ones, not sure which ones. but they were over $67 a piece. so i have to sell them for at least $50 a peice. i'm losing money on them. but i no longer have use for them. never got time to install them.

I wouldn't void a factory warranty by adding the CAI. One of the reasons why I drive a 1997 is that the factory warranty is long expired.

The first time you take your car in to a Ford dealer for an issue, they will notice the CAI and flag your car as non-factory enhanced.

Don't bother, its not worth it.

Exactly :withstupid:

Just do a K & N panel filter. It will probably have the same effect, and you should still have the warranty without any problems.

They go for about 45 at autozone I think.

I was going to do the CAI thing, but then I saw how 3 people in a span of a few weeks had problems and thought twice about it.

Panel filter for me.
