I am right at the end of installing adjustable pedals in my 04 column shift but cannot maneuver the final inch or two required to get the bracket holes into the 4 brake pedal bolts.

It is very tight in there.

Is there a trick to maneuvering the final couple of inches? Should I remove the intermediate shaft (it's only disconnected at the moment)?

Disconnect the shift cable in back of the cluster space.
There's a little bracket on it that prevents you from moving that last little bit.

Thank you! Removing the shifter bracket and rotating it out of the way is exactly what I did.
