OK, so I have a 1999 Ford Taurus V6 3.0 DOHC with climate control.
Problem:
I had only a/c for the past week (maybe longer, have not checked heat until this past week). I thought it might be an electrical issue, so I unplugged the battery terminals (both - and +) to maybe reset things. Then hooked them up the following morning and now all I have is Heat, no a/c. Ace Radiator told me it is probably a temp actuator, and Ford told me it is probably the blend door. blend door was cheaper, so I had them replace it. Still only heat, and wondering what the problem is.

If you can help, please post!!!

Run the EATC self test. Instructions and trouble codes for doing this are somewhere on this site.

I have no idea what a "temp activator" is that one shop told you. I have never heard that term refered to for any Ford product.

thanks, I will look into that test, and see if I can find it. They did not say the temp activator, they said actuator. They said it is a round disc looking part that is a common fix on the taurus.
