On a quick side note, what ended up being the Sable's braking problem?

You could glob some silicone on it and glue it back to the floor pan.

Hello,

I assume that you mean the one that is under the car attached to the floor pan and not one that is attached to the cat converter?

This shield is held on by 4 special Ford Stealership only rivets. If I remember they cost about 3- 4 dollars each.

I had to get a new(well junk yard new) one for my old man's car because he wound up running over something.

If it is hanging down the little tabs the rivets go into my have broken off (they are easy to bend) In this case ether buy a new one, go get one from the junk yard or simply buy the ford rivets and get a large (but thin) washer and put the shield back up, attach the washer and rivet it all up

Cheers
