For the lack of better terms... the headlights and dash lights will flutter or get bright then dim intermittently. Anyone ever run across this problem on the Taurus? Thanks in advance for any response.

From your signature I assume you are referring to your 98 Taurus. I'm not familiar with the electrical systems of Taurii post 1995. If it were my 95 SHO experiencing this problem I would suspect the headlight switch is faulty.

Also check the light sockets/plug for melting...if it melted just a little...the ground pin may be loose in the socket/plug and cause the fluttering/low light.

I beleive there was a post about this before....If I recall they said if this happens at idle its not a big dea.l Mine has been doing it for a year now and i had my battery and alternator checked out at an autostore. Sumtimes when u have your defrost on, the AC compresser will turn on and that will cause fluttering too...along with your rear defroster. I'd say first step if your worried about it is go down to advanced auto and have them test your battery and alternator, its usually free.

I'm still amazed my alternator is good at 134k
