According to my Chilton's, the torque sequence for the head bolts on my '99 Sable (and ONLY the '99) is as follows:

1) Torque to 35-39 lbs-ft.
2) Loosen one full turn.
3) Torque to 20-24 lbs-ft.
4) tighten 85°-90°.
5) tighten 85°-90°.

Elsewhere I've found the following:

1) Torque to 52-66 lbs-ft.
2) Loosen one full turn.
3) Torque to 45-55 lbs-ft.
4) Torque to 63-73 lbs-ft.

According to the Chilton's, that is the sequence for the '96-'98 models. Do I need to use this sequence anyway or is the one I used acceptable? If the former is the case, can I get away with torquing the currently-installed head bolts (which are new, BTW) to the 63-73 lbs-ft limit or do I need to get another set of head bolts and start from scratch?
