Hi everyone, I have my Taurus 2004 that is hard shifting It just gets on my nerves, Is there any quick fix for this??? I just bought a ''(Bars leak) Automatic Transmission repair'' its suppose to help with the hard shifting.

Anyone have any idea on this product, or how to fix this???

Every gear? Could be your VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is going. Don't dump that crap in your transaxle, it doesn't work. There's no such thing as "Mechanic In A Bottle".

When's the last time it was serviced? I recently changed the filter and fluid and mine is a lot smoother.

Be sure fluid level and condition are up to snuff. Filter, too.

I changed the Filter and Trans Fluid and I felt no difference maybe a minor difference but im not sure. I dont know how to look for the vaccum leak.

No its not every gear maybe the 2nd and 3rd, how do I check if its the speed sensor thats bad?

Best way to check VSS is to use a scan tool and monitor the VSS PID to be sure the PCM is getting the correct vehicle speed info from the VSS.

What atf type was used? Maybe the wrong type of fluid was used? Next time, try using a full synthetic atf, it improved shifting on mine, even with as little as 30k on the miles.
