I'm hoping it's not a tranny internal problem, but my 1997 SHO has been recently hardshifting and shortshifting between 1st and 2nd, only after the car has been moving for 5-10 minutes. From what I have researched it could be the VSS, I understand that the SHO does not have a VSS and is controlled by the ABS module. Could be that since the ABS light is on.

I'm curious, if the SHO doesn't have a VSS then why do they sell them at Autozone under SHO and is listed on AllData?
AZ says: "When not replaced, vehicle may experience CEL/MIL illumination, high fuel consumption, loss of power and/or inaccurate transmission shift points."
I have all of those symptoms.

I was driving her this morning, most of the 1-2 shifts were near perfect, there were a few hard-bang shifts. most of the bad shifts occured while in low acceleration. 2nd-3rd shifts are fine, OD is not working.
can someone tell me why the tranny has occasional bang/hardshifts
and what is the most common reason why OD stops working
