hey guys,

I got a new Taurus today. It's a 1998 Taurus SE with the Vulcan. White with grey interior.

I was looking at a 1995 Contour with the Duratec but it ended up having more problems than it was worth. Got a great deal on the Taurus.

It's white...this will be my 4th white Taurus. A 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001!!! And I can't belive this is the 6th Taurus I have had in total.

Anyways, I really like the 1998. It's pretty nice. I can't really afford to keep the 2001 Taurus I have now...so this was nice that it was so affordable.

My questions:

Never had to change the headlights on my 1999 Taurus. How do you change the headlights on a gen 3? I removed four (or three?) bolts from the top of the headlight. It moved but wouldn't come out. What am I doing wrong???

I want to change the seats from my gen 4 to the gen 3. Is this possible??

I alredy changed a couple things from the gen 4 over to the gen 3. I'm going to try to get pics soon. It's supposed to rain tomarrow, but hopefully I can get some up.

Thanks for your help, heres to another great Taurus!

Vulcan...hehehehhehe... j/k
Congrats on the new car

For the headlights, its just the 3 bolts (I'm sure its three) to get it out. You might be getting the wrong bolt. IIRC, one of them is in the back starts at the top and goes all the way down. Ofcourse you can always do what I did and just change them with the assemblies in the car. It takes mad skillz, but I'm sure you're up for it.

I dont see a problem swapping seats. I'm pretty sure that ford didn't change the bolt pattern since its on the same chasis. Do the gen4 seats feel better?

Haven't checked the weather, is it really going to rain tomorrow-all over socal?

Yeah it's supposed to rain BAD. Worse than the last storm we had on (Friday?) or whatever day it was. It's supposed to rain Wednesday and Thursday.

Thanks for the info about the lights. I guess well just have to see about the seats.

The reason I am swapping is the MUCH better head rests and the addition of power to the seats.
Plus they are two-tone.

Yeah what he said about the headlights. Also, the G3/4 seats are fully interchangeable with no modification. The bolt pattern is the same.

Congrats, and welcome to mad Vulcan Powah!

If you swap the seats out of the gen 4, what are you going to put in their place? The gen 3 seats? You may have trouble selling it then.

I know on Ebay there are g4 leather seats for sale, check it out.

There are actually 4 bolts if you want to remove the entire assembly. Three short ones, and one long one that XLsuruaT mentioned. It's not that hard, and there should only be 4 of them there.

Congrats on the car!
