This project is still in the initial development stage, and I would like to have it completed this summer...

Here is what they would theoretically look like...

They would have a clear reflector to replace the amber ones....

Let me know what you guys think! thanks

why would people need to buy them? I posted directions on how to do this for the gen 4 about 3 weeks ago.
yes and double yes! That is an awesome idea.

To have a stock look, to have it be nice and clean...

There wont be reflector tape or anything of the such as you mentioned in your post... therefore the amber light will actually shine though the reflector too...
The light does shine through with the directions in my post...did you try it out?

It's actually a stock look. But whatever. If you guys wanna waste money on it when you could do it for like 5 bucks be my guest. Just trying to help.

EDIT: Here is the link to the directions I posted:

Well man, all i have to say is that if your way was the easiest and most cost affective.. then i'd think everyone would be converting it as y our post showed now..

I am making an assumption that most people did not take to your post, therefore I'd like to back up my assumption by making this post.. thats all sorry...
I really wasn't trying to be mean or anything. Honestly I think it's good that more and more people are trying to do things for the Taurus since we have a limited after market. I just figure you guys can do it yourselfs.
I am certainly interested as well, you got a ball park on price for these?

I cannot say a price at the moment, not until I'm in the final stages of R & D... I can say that i'd make the cost as affordable as possible though.

I understand, I just can invision a market for people who do not want to "do it yourself" for this project, and would like a "plug n play" method instead to come to the finished product.

I guess this post will give me a good idea on to who would be and who wouldnt be interested in it.

That would be me, "plug and play" mods are for me. I just think it would look a little more refined and finished.

As for the price, as long as they are reasonable say within $100 count me in for a set.
i need to get my paws on some centennial headlights and let those get cleared out. now that would be some hot stuff. *runs off to ebay*
Yea, Afi, how about that clearing some Cent. headlights? That would be the ultimate Shiznit.

Well, it'd be an option.

I actually had two plans for a convertion kit...

one would be the actual, completed headlight assembly, that you would just drop in (which could be Cent. headlights)

Another kit would be just the reflector itself, which would have to put inside the headlight assembly by the final consumer...

Of course, the full headlight would be more expensive, but easier to install, and the reflectors itself would be harder to install, but less expensive....

Please remember that these ideas are all tentative and are subject to change.

I think the key word here is IDEA, no one is going to hold you to anything. But if you can get this put together, count me in for a set.

I agree with this; I cannot promise anything. This has to be well thought out. It has to prove to be successful by certain itinerary such as: does the product meet consumer needs and expectations? Does the project prove to be financially applicable? There are a lot of questions to be answered, and this thread is an excellent starting point.
So I am guessing that the first ones will be shipped out sometime next week?

I almost did the mod last week, but I can't find anything to make the clear reflector out of. All the reflectors I see are either too small or red or amber or blue. I went to Home Depot, Lowes, Discount Auto, and Pepboys. Nothing. Nothing on the net either. It will need to be like 4" x 2" to fabricate it IIRC.
The glue holding the lights together is very gummy, so that shouldn't be a problem. And no one gets to do Centennial light until after me.
