Curious..how hard would it be to put a Gen 1 SHO engine in a Gen3 SLO? Have a 89 SHO..have a 99 SLO..got me thinking (as it seems the engine might need replaced after I spent $420 on heads..ugh!!). Looked at the SHO engine from a GEN3 SHO but they were like $2500 and that wasnt gonna happen!! Didnt know if anyone looked at doing it or anyhting..just curious is all..

Can't wait for Brad to jump in and lock this thread. LOL :p

It is possible, but unless you are really dedicated to the project, and have ten times the amount of cash you spent on those heads, I would not even attempt it. Subframes are different, hacking OBD1 to OBD2, EEC-V to EEC-IV..... not worth the effort. And you will spend more money taking care of your old SHO motor than it would cost to buy a Gen 3 with a Duratec.

*not hatin' the old SHO's or spouting pro-Duratec propoganda... just facts*

Besides all those other things, it won't clear the hood of a Gen 3.

We've covered this many times in the past, so I'm locking this thread.
