I noticed this when Nick986 and I were looking at used Taurus' online. Its a 1990 GL with the 3.0 V6.

Yes, it exists. They were an option, though pretty rare. I was pretty surprized when I saw a floor-shift '86-'89 Sable in the junkyard. I mentioned it in my Taurus spotter's guide. You know what's even rarer is probably the full-sized spare tire.

LOL I just added a full size spare tire to my 1993 GL (the ONLY stock rim on my Taurus that wasnt bent). I actually painted the rim silver so if I did have to use it, it wouldnt stick out as much with the other wheels being alum. alloy. I had to drive around for about 3 weeks on the mini-spare, I hated that. I also added a full size spare rim to my Tempo and its come in hand a few times. I used to have a stock 1999 Contour wheel but I since replaced it with an old Zephyr wheel because the Contour wheel matched the other three I had on a 1990 Tempo I was selling.
