Anyone noticed a problem with the gen III tach not working properly or going to 0 while driving? Possible after changing gauges? Mine has been acting up since I removed it while doing the heater core. I really don't have to have to swap the whole cluster because the stupid tach doesn't work.

on 98 SHOs (only that year) the speedo goes to 0 above 120 or so. no one knows why, and no other years are affected.
my suggestion, take the cluster out, and inspect the connection, you can read on the circuit board what the leads are for, find the tach, and make sure there is no corrosion, or damage to the wires, or the circuit board. any SES codes? maybe your tach sensor or tach lead went bad.

I have a spare 99 tach if you need it, minus the needle. I used the needles for the 97 cluster.

I second what Matt mentioned above.

But I like my cluster that goes to 200. It has way more bling then the miles cluster you guys have.

It is too cold to car if the tach says I'm going 13 000 rpm right now so I will do that when it warms up.
