I guess I meant Gen 2 to Gen 4 swap. My mistake. My beloved and modestly modified '92 LX has caught the headgasket disease and I am buying a 2001 (non-LX) Taurus to replace it. Are the wheels interchangeable? How about the air filters (I have a nice K&N in the '92)? Thanks.

ACTUALLY...unless your gen 2 wheels are 16" they will NOT NOT NOT fit a 2001. I tried putting 15" on a 2001 and THEY DON'T FIT. The bolt pattern IS THE SAME but the brakes are TOO BIG. They are 11.6" rotors on the 2001 Tauri...if it was a 2000 they would fit, since they have 10.6" rotors. Anyway, officially, 15" wheels will not fit a 2001 Taurus no matter what ANYONE says if it has the 11.6" brakes. You'd be wasting your time.

Yep.... you can use newer rims on older cars, but you can't put 15" rims on a 2001 and up. The rotors on the 2001+ are too large for 15" rims.
