Sorry to bring this back up...but I'm considering doing this modification.

Not sure how comfortable I am working with the airbag stuff, but this swap of the seat bases interests me. Do you have any information/details/pictures about this process? I know you said you have to remove the seat back adjuster lever, but what else? Are there any particular bolts you need to remove?

Did you swap the rear seat into your car or did you leave the rear seat alone?

working with the airbags is not that big of deal, if you dont have e service manual for the car you are working on the standard time is to wait 30 minutes with the battery disconected. (this is what i did cause i it took me almost this long to get the seat bolts out they are in there kinda dumb) the only thing is that with some seatbelt pre-tensioners when they are torqued down the computer needs to be reset, im not sure on the taurus/sable though.

i do not have any pictures but i do need to put my gen 4 seats back together on their bases i could take pics of that it would just be the reverse for taking tham apart. there are 5 main bolts 4 on the bottom and one on the side at the pivot point for the back, along with some screws, etc.

yeah i put in the rear seat too so that everything matched up colorwise, it drops right in except you need to take apart the center sholderstrap/ pass side buckle assembly there is a little ring that holds them together it needs to be crushed to get out. you need to do this so you can get the belt through the hole in the seat, then the only other problem i have is that the location of the belt re-winder thing is in the way of putting a trim piece around the belt[/b]
Yea I've removed some seats out of a Gen 1...wow that wasn't a fun job :lol2:

But if the seat of the G3 swapped over to the G4 base without any issue, then I don't have to worry about swapping the seat belt, etc right? Just the lever that you grab to adjust the seatback is the real main issue/pain? Sounds like the back seat isn't bad either.

I have an 18" breaker bar that can help loosen some of those bolts.

But yea man if you get some pictures that would be great, I'd appreciate it B)
