I have been reading about this infamous what you would think would be belt squeal but is really the cam position syncronizer going out. I was wondering if the 3.0 DOHC and the ohv use the same steps for repair of this part? I am pretty sure my CPS is on the passenger side as well. It is getting progressivly worse as I drive. And I guess rock auto is the place to get get a good American replacement? antips/ tricks would be awesome.

Belt squeal has nothing to do with the Crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor. That would be due to a tensioner or idler bearing possibly.

They are both on the passenger side. The camshaft sensor can be replaced easily in around 30min. The crankshaft requires the entire side to be taken down.

SHO doesn't have a cam syncro, that's for the Vulcan 3.0L only.
