I just recently replaced the GEM Module in our 99 Taurus. I went to a salvage yard, and pulled one from a car out there. Recently we found that the air conditioner does not work. The problem is, we don't know if it stopped working before or after I changed out the GEM Module. After I replaced the GEM, I checked everything to see if it all was working. I turned on the A/C and it worked, trouble is, it was a cold day. So, was it the A/C or just the cold from outside? Could the GEM Module affect the air conditioner? I am tossing around the idea of putting the old GEM back in and seeing if the A/C works. Here is a link to my A/C thread.
