Take your KM traveled divided by the amount of liters (it is liters in Canada, right?) it took to fill it and you should have your KM per liter. We go by MPG here and mine is 16 on all city driving. Highway driving will get you better MPG or KM per liter because there's less stop and go. Judge it by that more than how much it takes money wise.
Coming out of a 4 cylinder I almost cringe when I fill up; but I'm not sure if my Betsy-also is a guzzling fuel or not.
