How is this supposed to work? I am getting an amp wiring kit that includes a 16 feet 18 gauge remote turn on cable. Where is the best place to connect it? BTW, I have an after market stereo, so the RCU is completely disconnected.

There should be a wire on the head unit for remote turn on or amp. Connect that to the signal line of amp.

Yeah, the wire should be blue in color on the harness that came with your head unit. You have to run that wire all the way to the amp.
