insted of using a second sheet of paper for light to through for the gages. try using some "gels" from theater lighting. that way you can choose any color you want. even some metalic colors.

can you email me the scans of the gages for the sho speedo and the lx tach (gen 2) jaarthur at wam.umd.edu
thanks

well the gels would only be fore the back of the gages to disfuse the light evenly.
you realy can't print on gels...... some realy good quality photo paper sould last long enough for you to get tired of the gages. ( like 2 or 3 years)

mummmm..... hey sliver night does your college or high school have a actual photoprinter? the realy realy good type (1,000k +) i can't rember what they are called but it is like printing digital photos (like from the store)

I have a 1993 GL with a Fuel guage on the right and temp gauge on the left, and a 140 MPH Speedometer. I just want plain white face gauges. How much would that cost???

i never fully did my gauges, i am thinkin about goin and starting back up on the project and doin a lil research to try and get the light to show throught properly, if it might take a month or so to do it all. making them isnt that hard. making them work properly without taking apart ur cluster is a bit harder.

I'm one of those guys who tires of stuff quickly, I'd probably change my gauge faces every week. I don't suppose you have a scan of a first Gen, with the tach? I have an MT-5. I might have a shot of it around here somewhere or I might be able to get my neighbor to take a shot with his digicam real quick in which case I'll post the shot, but my scanner is dead and I can't get the cluster pack out, my hands/arms are too big to reach in where they need to go to D/C things and my bro won't touch a Ford.

[email protected] or [email protected] if you can send me a scan. If not it's all good I understand, just at least pm me and let me know.

I should have a photo a bit later. I took mine out last night. It has from left to right, Tach, Speedo, Fuel, Temp. It's all one piece with no overlay or anything, but I took the liberty last night of creating an overlay for it. Doing iit in white with black cobwebs same as the surrounding bezel, and the grill. Problem is I don't have a working scanner, so it took alot of measuring, creating blocks of color specific sizes, etc, to get the cutouts in the computer, print them out, attach them to thick plastic sheet, cutting it out and using it as a stencil. WHEW took me hours on end. As soon as I get a working scanner I plan on scanning the stuff and posting it for other users, but that might be awhile.

I can also probably edit a pre-89 W/O Tach to include the tach, it shouldn't be too difficult, especially since I have the speedo/tach mask on here I drew up, I just lack proper alignment of the speedo, plus the other two guages would be there as well.
Tore my arm up removing the cluster too as my arm is about 2 inches to big to slip behind and remove the speedo cable. I'm going to need the help of a small boned but strong woman to get it back on. LOL.

He was right this thread is worthless without pics. Anywhere here is a shot of my stock gauges sitting on top my car after I pulled them out. The only difference besides the white w/spiderweb bezel is I put a white overlay around them I was in the proccess of making.
