My bad if this has already been asked or discussed - I have done a bit of digging but didn't find answers.
A couple years ago, I upgrade the Sync 2 system in my 2015 Limited to Sync 3 with a computer out of a Ford Escape. Did the programming with ForScan and it was all set up. Someone I know recently got a newer F150 and some of the features, particularly remote start via the app or systems monitoring, are appealing to me. I tried connecting to the Escape within FordPass (I got the VIN and added it to my app already) but it immediately has a problem connecting.
I was just curious if I could somehow connect my FordPass app to gain access to these features. I saw one company selling a "sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade kit" and within the frequently asked questions it said that to gain FordPass access additional kits would be required and their system couldn't do it. It seems to me that it should be as easy as connecting to the Escape computer but I guess not.
