I finally got the transmission hot enough to spew fluid again. I thought putting a cooler on would take care of the problem. Well, it did somewhat...Instead of gushing out, it just drips. The fluid is coming from the small gap between the tranny and engine. What could be causing this? I placed the tranny cooler in line with the stock cooler. Could there be too much resistance in the fluid flow? Is there any chance the filter could be in wrong causing restricted flow and thus making it over heat?

I'm stumped!

im not a pro, so i could be wrong,

but it sounds like the torque converter may be bad and boiling the liquid, and pushing it through the main seal. Now, im pretty sure that the trannys have an overflow tube, so thats a bad sign if its comming through that seal.

The only thing i know for sure is that the fluid is either comming from a crack in the housing (highly doubt, ) or through the main seal (most likley)
