Flex Pipe Woes

1694 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  spridget
I got this nasty, raspy sound coming from underneath my 99se tec. Upon visual inspection, the flex-pipe looks damaged, the outer covering is pulling away from the edge of the pipe. I found a replacement @ rockauto for $73.00 (Walker part #52094).

I plan on getting a custom exhaust eventually...Will i be kicking myself for getting a stock replacement? Are there any other options?

Thanks

You could go order one of those generic flex pipes, hack off the old flex pipe and clamp the new one in its place. The generic pipes are usually $20 or so at JCwhitney or Jegs online.
Can you afford the custom exhaust now? Is your state inspection about to expire? If not, wait until you can afford to get it all done at once.

LOL!! I can't afford it now and my inspection expired last month.
Haha... well then, getting a cheap universal and having a muffler shop install it may cost as much as getting the Walker and installing it yourself. Either way, you'll have to get it fixed to pass inspection.
