I have a 1999 Ford Taurus with the 3.0 L flex fuel engine. A few days ago I went out to start the car and it would not start. It would crank, and the fuel pump would prime, but after checking the plug wires, I determined the car was not getting any spark and replaced the coil. The car would still not start. I gave up and called a mechanic and it turned out the ECU was bad. The car's ECU had the numbers ML2-861A on it. I have tried all the local parts places and none can get the ML2-861A computer, but all of them can get the ML2-862 and ML2-863 computers, which are also for the flex fuel taurus. Will any of the other ECUs work in the place of the ML2-861A, and if so is the difference a matter of programming or the module itself?

Any help will be appreciated.
