OK i made up my mind about the car...If I can, I defenatly want a Gen 4.

Price--~$6,900, 79K miles

I went out today to Georgetown Motors and looked at a 2001 Ford Taurus SES. It had all the standards for an SES, and I dont believe there was even an option there unless CD was for 01. I really loved driving it, even more than the 1999. I small tuneup and a balance on the tires and I would have thought it was Japanese. Ford really did a nice job with the Gen 4. Mine was a bit dirty inside...rip in seat, dirty, etc. But the power was great...had the Vulcan 155hp. Drove nicely and it was quite peppy, esp when I ran a stop sign (stupid vines were covering it up, people should cut them, or paint that white line). Anyways, if I can find a Gen 4 within my price range id buy it. Gen 2s are kinda classic, but I dont have tons of money for repairs. Gen 3s seem to be on par with gen 4, but I like the Gen 4 stylying better.

I made quite a few pictures and Ill show off just a few...

Ahhh you are mistaken...I have a 1994 and a 1999 to go drive sometime this weekend or next week Monday. And of course Ill do a write up and ill try a new camera/video technique...keeping it stable.

Sweet, that's pretty nice.
I bet you can come buy it if you want...trade in your sable ;)

FUNNY

G4s are nice heh? Go find ya a tec to drive, then youll know
That gen 2 had a really bad oder, i opened the door, and closed it all within 5 secs and gave the key back.
I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a duratec and a mom/pop type used car dealer. The new car dealers here are very nosy.

I'm guessing that you could probably get that for between $5500-$6000. I got my 2001 SEL with the Duratec, 6 Disc CD, Climate Control, ABS, Alloys, leather and moonroof for $10k with 28k which was basically a little above trade in.

You can also give Autotrader a shot, look for the 55S in the vin which is an SES with the Duratec, 55U is Vulcan and 552 is flex fuel. SEL is 56S and most of them came with the Duratec.

Also use nadaguide.com to figure out what the real trade-in/retail price. In your example, it's 5275/7025.

gen4 is teh heat! ;D

even though the vulcan has a bit less power, i still think it's got quite a bit of pickup compared to a lot of other cars near it's class. everyone who rides with me is always suprised on how powerful it is and how smooth it rides, and how much room the front has :)

Well, If they have that 01 for sale still in September Ill think about buying it. Just needs a small tuneup and a interior detailing. I just am gona have to keep my eyes open. Millage i really dont care about...i have to commute 25+ miles to school each day, plus whenever I wanna go out somewhere so it'll become high millage. Any other recommendations or things I should keep my eyes peeled for (besides a 'tec ;) )
