I have a problem with the factory stereo system in my family's 2001 taurus wagon. It turns on, but doesn't have any sound, no matter how loud I turn it up. I can still change the station on it, and the antenna works, but it just doesn't play any sound. I even swaped in a different head unit, but it did the same thing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could be the rcu in the rear behind the spare tire.

I'd guess it's a loose connection at the RCU behind you're spare tire. If it's anything like a G3 it's kind of a pain to get out, but you should be able to just reach up there and make sure all the connections are snug.

Feel free to throw something at me if that's not where the RCU is, I'm going by memory...
