Since I bought my 97 Sable wagon in January, I have made many trips to local junk yards in search of parts. The selection is very thin - I have only found 96 & 97 models, and only one wagon - I think importation stopped after that in favour of RWD Crown Vic's and Grand Marquis which are still big sellers here. The odd thing is all the cars I did find were Vulcan's paired with the AX4N transaxle - not common on the domestic market. Maybe Ford knew something when exporting these cars to demanding climates? :unsure:

Nope...it's not really that rare. There are lots of those in the States too.

I still don't think the N is a whole lot more resistant to heat or abuse...the N and S are fairly similar units, other than the way they can shift. The N can skip gears, the S can't.
