I bought a new muffler also and i haven't installed it cause i'm afraid of what it might sound like. Does anyone have a sound clip of a FM 40 on their Vulcan by any chance??? That would be helpful
If i had a way to record audio, i'd record a clip of my 97 vulcan for you. The only thing i have done to the exhaust is the flowmaster 40 originals muffler. Its my personal opinion though that it sounds NICE, at idle, normal driving, WOT, everything. I personally love it. I especially like cold starts when the idle goes up to about 1500 RPM or so. *drool*
BTW - No rasp at all. You wont find any rice on my car.
Also, when you first install it, you gotta give the muffler time to break in. During this time, your exhausts tone will change. Give it time though, itll eventually break in.![]()
btw... I am going to try to figure out a way to record my flowmaster sound.[/b]![]()
When it gets warmer my sister's compaq is going outside to become an exhaust recorder, ha.
Just ordered turbos off the summit website for my 00 tec, will let you know how they sound when they are installed. Just for kicks ill record what the stock sounds like for comparison.
