I was wondering how I could tell if my 2001 Taurus SES Sedan, with the 3.0 Vulcan, was able to use E85? I know Im probaby asking a off topic question but where I live, E85 is cheaper then gas.
Yes, E85 is cheaper than "real" gas, but by how much? Expect to experience a 20% to 30% drop in gas mileage using E85 due to the lower energy content of E85. You may end up spending more $$ per mile using E85 due to decreased fuel mileage.
Some places it really is cheaper. But it sure isn't around me. It's generally only $0.20 a gallon cheaper. But in Indiana where I see 85% it's about $0.50 cheaper.
