hi all its been a while from the last time i was here.
i think my engine mount is going.
because when i put the car in gear i feel like a little pull,
then i opened my hood and i put the car in gear and the whole engine twisted.
so its going in the shop on tuesday.
its a 92 taurus,. have any of u had your engine mounts go on u :)

BTW... the front engine mount is a fairly common failure on the Gen 2. The rubber portion is usually what fails. Part of the reason is b/c the oil filler spout is directly above the mount. Oil+rubber=not good. :D

I think the front mount was replaced 3 times on my '92.

I replaced the front mount on the 3.8L police package (Gen 2) I used to own several times. I think it should be included in the regular maintenance section of the owner's manual. :lol:

Hey Six, I respect your opinion, please email me why you think I was hosed. The mechanic is my regular guy, and I am not able to do it myself. [email protected] Reason I ask is because it didn't seem to cure the 45mph shakes and the tranny blew out reverse 2 weeks later!
