Just got an electronic compass from a late 80s Continental. The module is made by Prince (a company taken over by Johnson Controls in the mid 90s). It interfaces with the car via a 3 pin connector. The wires to the connector have the following colours:
orange/red
black/white
white/purple
Note that orange/red indicates the wire's insulation is orange in colour and has a red stripe.
Does anyone know what these wires connect to? After studying the circuit board and its componenents I THINK they as as follows:
orange/red = illumination
black/white = ground
white/purple = power
Can anyone confirm this?
