I took my 99 taurus to autozone and got the code for a bad EGR valve. I replaced the valve, but the check engine light came back on. i took it back and the code was reading the same (something about insufficient flow to EGR). Any idea what this could be? Thanks.

I will have to take it back off and check. That is the one thing I did not check when I took the old one off. I was just relieved I finally got it to come off.

2 things to check-- DPFE sensor can be removed and bench tested- AutoZone has the porocedure
The second choice and less likely based on the age of your car is that the EGR ports behind the throttle body are plugged with carbon

Both these are easy to check repair yourself

Good Luck
