Anyone else's Duratec whine down when you turn the car off? I think is sounds neat, but then started to wonder what the heck the sound was - any thoughts? It happens most of the time, but not always. Maybe its the fans or the air-pump or something?

I've also heard that sound. I haven't confirmed it, but have assume that it was the cooling fins spinning down.

Yup, its normal. Its exactly that.

My Essex does it also. I think all Taurus/Sables do it. It sounds like a jet or something winding down.

My Vulcan makes a loud "WHOOT" sound when you turn it off.. It started ever sence I put a CAI in there, so I am thinking it is just the CAI making the whistleing sound

The 'Tec in my 2000 does it. Sounds like a fan winding down. I don't always here it thou.
