in 1999 they stopped using "dual" exhaust on the DOHC models
Has the undercarriage changed much between '99 and '02?

It would seem to be a simple matter for a shop to add duals to an '02, then.

But if I had my 'druthers, mandral bends would be the order of the day.

Its changed enough where you will need a custom job to do things safely.

They changed the location of the evaporative canister lines, so that if you were to dual your car out, the lines would be dangerously close to the hot exhaust pipes.

Some people have dualed out gen 4s and either relocated the lines (dont know how it was done), or they wrapped the lines and the exhaust in heavy kevlar.

I've been thinking about this for a while now....

Think I might go all the way with borla mufflers. They have a great way of making everything sound goooood.

thick fat a** kevlar heat wrap is the way to go. Thats what I did, and it works like a charm. THe job was very custom. Im about the get the whole thing redone with a better Y-split and pipes. I'll be sure to take some good pics for yall. peace!
