They really will want to be getting rid of that car. Try to talk them down as much as you can. I bet you could get a better deal. It sounds nice though. Gen 4's are very nice.

Also remember.tauruses have sweet 0% financing so if you do get a new one..you can take advantge of that...
if you get a used on, you will have interest...maybe around 6%
i priced my brand new 03 w/ 0% financing to a 02 w/ the giong rate..and it was almost exact monthly payments because the 02s were like 12-14 grand versus 22k for a new 03 the interest equalled it out...and i get a longer warranty, and i konw what was done to my car since it was new

I bought my 2002 SEL in Nov. of 2002. They were asking $28.5, after rebates ($5K from Ford) and about 4 hours of "haggling" got it for $18.5 with .3 miles on it. You will love it, you should try to make a deal on the new 2003.

Man! reading this makes me wish that I looked at the engines of the Taurus' before I bought one.. I know I looked at 2 or 3 of the engines, and I could of SWORE they all looked idenical (Vulcan) But one of those cars was a Sable.. And I dont know if a Sable can come with a Vulcan now adays..

I have seen plenty of gen IV Sables with no dohc badges running around here, probably around 1 in 4 has a vulcan around here but I don't know for certain, all GS's that I have seen are vulcans.
