I am about to replace my driver side front door. I would like to take out the cylinder lock from my old door and install it in the new door, so I can use my original key.
Anybody knows how to this and what kind of tools I'm gonna need? I have all basic tools:sockets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers... .
The car is a '97 Taurus, no remote entry.

Take the door panel off your old door. There should be a couple of rods going to the lock cylinder. Remove them, and then remove the clip that holds the cylinder in place. Then install it in your new door. Pretty easy to do, but some spots will make you wish you were triple jointed.
