Hey guys, I am having a little problem here. The door ajar light is always on on the dashboard, and I tried spraying wd40 in the latch. This did not work. So, I took off the door panel, disconnected all the plugs, buy can’t seem to find the DAS (door ajar switch). If anyone knows where this is, please let me know.

You have to remove the plastic wrap and you may be able to reach in there. O never had to replace one.. If you remove those three Torx bolts that may let you move the lock mechanism over to get to the switch.

Try something stronger than WD-40. Grab a bottle of PB Blaster, and use the hose attachment to spray it into the lock mechanism. Trigger the latch a bunch of times. If this clears it up, give it a few days then use some white lithium grease on it. I've found on all three of my Taurus/Sable cars and PB Blaster was the only thing that fixed it (I lived with it on the first two). From what I read (I didn't pull the door apart) it's dirt and grime that gets in and jams up the mechanism.

I took out the door ajar switch and found this… I cleaned it up with some q tips and toothpicks. but the problem persists. I kept the original door ajar switch in there though, and it worked for 30 minutes. Then it went back to not recognizing the door.
