OK just so you all know.. this happened saturday night about 2 AM, in my 93 ATX SHO, I was not listening to the radio, I was not drinking, I was not under the influence of anything, it was an accident.. I wish it could all just go away.

It's the dumbest thing anyone could ever do.. except for mabye backing into a parked neon or something.. j/k ashley.. I went around a corner too fast and slammed on the brakes and turned the wheel.. but it wasn't enough.. I hit a curb that was on the higher side of an unlite, winding, canyon road. It was a big left turn right after an easy right turn. whatever.. so I come out of the right turn, think to myself.. "OMG!!!!!!!" and then I have the brakes on and the wheel turned to the left as much as I can, .(.Now I can see in my head... all my dreams and hard work going down the drain, I see it hitting the curb and smashing the car..) but then I hit the curb, just a loud or deep, I don't even know how to describe it.. a small point of contact and then I'm back on the road slowing down some more.. I slow.. slooow.. around the rest of the turn then around a right and finaly bring the car to rest on the following left turn.. turnoff. I jump out and go look at the tires, now noticing that the rear tire was shooting air out of the sidewall and is missing a chunk of the wheel I don't even think about taking it off and putting on a spare.. I jump in the car and drive home stopping once to put air in.

Here are the pictures.. the first 6 were taken by my passenger when we stopped for air at the gas station. The rest were taken today when I got home from work.

Hmm. Now as I'm uploading the pictures I just noticed that the chunk wasn't missing until I got home. I don't know maybe it's all for the best.. it might be run over by a car (as I walk to all of this months destinations) and then fly up and hit me.. some how putting me out of this pain. I know it's just two wheels and a set of tires.. and upon todays lit further inspection.. a scraped front bumper.. But it's more then that to me, I'm now unable to fix the car as I have no money, I Don't even know what to say... I'm just going to put the pictures up.. this is the order they were taken.

And after I hit the curb.. there was a clicking.. like when people have old brakes or something.. and as the wheel turns it goes click click... faster as the speed increases.. it did that and the steering wheel was at a 90 degree angle turned to the left, which I guess makes sense since there wasn't any air in the back right and the front was very low.. But I think hitting a sidewalk at high speed could mess up the tie rod ends.. Can anyone help me out? :(

Well, first off, that sucks.. And as I said when I was talking to you - I'd gladly offer you my original wheels, just let me know...

And I hope you find out what's the matter with the clicking part... I've got no clue as to what it could be, other than snapping the tie rods?

You're a smart guy, I'm sure you can check (in the daylight lol) and see whats the matter with it :)

Oh, and that parked Neon? heh.. I .. uh.. i meant to do that

I feel your pain...and alot more of it today. sorry to hear about the mishap, but that's another SHO that will not be kept off the roads by something like that. good luckin getting the funds to get it fixed. you might need 2 new rims...that will suck! at least get some touch up paint for the bumper, 3 bucks and you won't be able to see it unless you look for it.

Yeah, or try hitting the junkyard. There was a FULL SET of SHO slicers WITH 2 decent Yoko Avids on them. And someone ganked me because I didn't have enough room to take them all at once. 2 days later they were gone. :curse:

And as always...

Do It eBay Baby!

EDIT: Here's some pics of my rude introduction with a curb....

Yeah... junkyards and ebay are the way to go. I have seen full sets of Gen 4 rims go for less than $200, and slicers going for pretty cheap on ebay, so you can give that a shot. That really sucks though. I slid into a curb on ice in January and did over $1k in damage to the front right corner of my car! I feel your pain!

Good luck with getting it fixed. :)

How funny. I understeered on a dry road and slammed the front left. Funny world! Yup, $1K in damage also. :(

ROTFL @ last 3 pics!
well.. the last two were just a gag.. I had to tape on the SHO center cap.. but it's not like the car is being driven, I still have the front with a huge bulge in it.. I'm too scared to drive on it  .. Unless, I could just put the spare from my Lincoln on.. and then switch the tires around so the spares are on the front and Slicers on the back.. It'd look like a drag racer. Would that work?

I dont think the Continental has the same bolt pattern.
Cough ***The Continental and the Taurus are the same car*** cough

**edit.. Al Fitz just got back to me.. $125 for two right side directional slicers shipped. Now if I can get those all I need are a set of new tires :(

I'm just going to let my car sit in the driveway with two spares on it.. until I can get the new wheels, and afford the new tires. Then I'll drive it down to a tire shop (on the spares) and get 4 new tires.

I nailed a curb at 45, prior to that I had spun....and then 2 weeks ago I drove over an island at walmart going 40.....somehow everything is fine except for my right axle

IF your damaged rims and tires are all that you did....consider yourself lucky.
It hit the back harder then it did the front.. an I had probably a second in which I was TRYING to make the turn.. I was going around 70.

Dont feel too bad. I put my Mustang in a pond about 2 years ago. That was fun.
