New member here. I've been lurking on the forums for a couple of months. Thanks to all members for the help I've found so far.

I have a 95 Taurus GL with the 3.0 Vulcan. I replaced the water pump, thermostat and radiator cap, and well as flushed and filled the cooling system. The cooling system will start to become pressurized before the bypass hose even starts to get warm. After running awhile, there will be air bubbles from under the radiator cap to the overflow tank and a mist rising from the back of the engine. The engine doesn't overheat and the temperature gauge stays around one-half scale. After turning the engine off, the cooling system will hold pressure for hours. The oil on the dipstick and under the fill cap looks normal.

It seems to me that the rear head gasket is leaking enough to let exhaust gases into the cooling system, but not enough to let the pressurized coolant back into the cylinder.
