I was having trouble logging into the forums because my isp's dns server is crap. I changed my dns server to verizon (I think). Are there any risks by changing it to this? Am I putting my computer at risk? Thanks

DNS = Domain Name Server

I have no idea what you're asking really... I mean if you're having troubles logging onto the forums by going to www.taurusclub.com

click on start, go to run type in

ping www.taurusclub.com and when you see the ip address come up hit pause/break write that number down and go to the site that way? i dunno :shrugs: ... :hamal: ????

You can use any public DNS server. I have Verizon DSL and I like to use UUNet's DNS servers. There is no risk to doing so.

Yeah, you're OK to use any public DNS server. :)

Just don't change it to one somebody who may have a malicious intent tells you. Only use "validated" public DNS servers.

My ISP's are pretty good now, but when I had my other ISP I used Qwest DNS servers quite a bit. They were always very quick to update and very reliable:

216.111.65.217
205.171.16.250

Hope those are still valid. :unsure:
