Doing maintenance on a 2005 3.0 OHV Taurus, and noticed a decent sized dent on the bottom-front of the trans pan.
I asked the driver about it (my mother in law) and it could have been there for months. No syptoms of a problem and trans fluid level is ok.
I don't know a lot about transmissions except for basic maintenance.
Can this be left alone until the next trans fluid change without any problems?
Can something like this be hammered out without warping the flange where the gasket sits?
thanks
