i've read a few things about decarbing the intake and was wondering if it was really worth the trouble. i don't want to remove the UIM (unless its to do a P&P). there is stuff you can buy at autozone to spray through the intake, isn't there? and if so, any recommended brands?

i'd really like to clean out the carbon in the intake. my car has 104k on it with most of the first 75k being town miles with low-grade gas. i'm sure its filthy.

any ideas?

I did the ever controversial steam cleaning on my engine... Seemed to run smoother afterwards.

Not sure how well this would clean the intake though, but I'm sure it works well on combustion chambers..
