The only prior signs of the starter going out were this morning, when I left: I got in the car turned the key and it sounded strange, almost as if it was going REALY slow.. it wasn't shaking or anything I'm not sure if the engine even moved then.. but that was only one try at starting it.. on the second try it started right up and I thought nothing of it. Then around 3 when I was going to go home I hop in and try to turn it on, it turns over, the same way then as it turns on it stalls with a squeek, hmm.. 3 more of the same thing, then it just clicks with a turn to start. So I go find a friend with a cell and call AAA, I specifically request a flatbed "because my car's lowered" :lol2: .. I just didn't want them to scratch the bumpers.. so they pull up and tell me my car isn't lowed and I'm like.. then why do they always scratch the bumpers when it's towed?!? (actually it was my lincoln that they scratched the bumper on, and it was towed to my house from a the ford dealership service.... when I bought it) So after tightening the battery wires, putting a jumper box on and "tapping" the starter he says.. YUP, I'll be towing it. then he loads it up, and he puts some 4X4s under the tires to raise the car up so the bumpers don't scratch.. :lol2: He even said, "I know what you're thinking, you're thinking: Is this @$$hole going to scrape my effects?" he tows it the 5 miles ot my house and my friend gets to ride in my SHOs back seat. :lol2: (shhh don't tell)

Does anyone know how much a starter costs for a 93 ATX SHO?

For my 92 MTX (i'd assume it's the same part# as a 93 ATX, but not positive) a new bosch starter cost about $125 or so, with all the work done by my dad and I. I've seen them for as low as $85 or so, but the warranty was better, and I trust bosch more than the other companies offering them.

I thought I was supposed to be taking a break from this site for a while???!!??
