It's been a while since I've been here and my son took the Sable to another state. Here's the problem.
Last winter when it got around and just below freezing, the dash lights took forever to come on when turning the headlights on. With a lot of helpful advice here it was recommended to remove the dash and clean the contacts which we did and had no further problems.
Now he tells me it's doing the same thing. the only difference is the car is now 6 hours away and he has no place to work on it. Is it possible that the rheostat that controls the dash lights could be dirty/corroded and the cold/humidity affects it?
Thanks,
