ok, i wanna get a present for my girlfriend who has a 1996 ford taurus with everything stock. That means it has no cd player buttons on the dash controls or a cd changer. I want to get her this kit http://www.gadgetpros.com/fotamesa19.html but i dont know if i need anything else to say hook up any old cd player to the cars stock speakers and such. This site http://www.installer.com/kits/ has what i think is the wrong dash kit for the 96 taurus my girlfriend has but it has a wire harness that apparently hooks up aftermarket harnesses to the stock speaker harness. I thought speaker harnesses were pretty standard, is this 45 dollar raping required to simply convert one connector type to another or will what the car has stock work with generally any cd player i buy from the store. Would this type of kit include any such required adapters ? the site is very low on info and i've been unable to find sites that were any better. Thanks in advance for the help.

I used the same Scosche kit when I put an aftermarket Panasonic in my '97 GL. Worked great.

Crutchfield kit

If ur gonna pay the $60 then get it there. Same price and incredible customer service. I lost the 98-99 adapter plug for the defrost in it and they just sent me a completly new kit no questions asked.

i would but i need it before the 10th and going directly to scosche seemed to be the fastest turnaround to actually sending the unit, ie tomorrow, and i need it fast. without cds she's lost.
