my 2002 taurus has been acting up with slow acceleration and sudden drops in power and i got the codes pulled from the check engine light and it said that the crankshaft position sensor wasnt working properly and cylinders 1 and 3 were misfiring. so im wondering if this is a reasonably simple fix or if a pro is needed. thanks in advance

I would find the missfire for #'s 1 and 3, then crawl under the side of the car to see if there is any gunk, or road debris up in the crank sensor. It's located on the front cover, just to the rear of the crank pulley.

Exactly what codes did you get? I don't think there are any codes for the crank sensor.
