So I had my heater core replaced about 3 weeks ago. (for the 3rd time, this was under warranty) This was done on a monday, friday of that week, I noticed a crack in the lower passenger side corner of the windsheild. There is no chip either on the inside, or out. And it starts at the very bottom of the windsheild. I took it to the shop so they could check it out. They said there is no possible way that this could have happened because the dash was taken out. They said that "The dash is made up of a material that make it impossible to crack the winsheild if it hit it.". I think this is total
, but there's really no way to prove them wrong.

So my question to you, is it possible that taking out the dash to replace a heater core, could crack the windshield?

If they put stresses on the windshield in ways it's not used to, which is quite possible, that may have caused it.
Cracked windshields suck, the windshield on my mom's 03 Saturn VUE cracked for no reason... it made about trip number 8 for warranty work
