On my car I have flushed the coolant, changed the thermostat and still have no heat. It smells a little like coolant after you get out of the car after driving it which I am assuming is a crack in the recovery tank so my question is.... If I replace the coolant temperature sensor, would it remedy the lack of heat? My friend who does work on my car said that if your sensor is bad, the engine will think its cold when its not giving it a bucking like mine has around 30-45 MPH because he says the engine is trying to mix fuel incorrectly which I get about 200 miles on a tank so that could be a possibility.

Also would the sender unit need replacement?

I have enough coolant in the tank before you say anything!

The sensor has nothing to do with no heat.

A bad engine temp sensor would cause fuel mileage problems.
