In my previous post I indicated that my car was missing under a load when damp or wet out. Problem goes away when dry outside. I think it is probably one of the COPs (coil on plugs) on my 2004 Sable. Is there any way for the home mechanic to simulate the load test as done by the Rotunda tester? I have been doing some searching on the internet and some sites say you can take the COPs to the dealer and they can test them off the car...dont know how true this is. From the information I have gathered it is sometimes useless to test the resistance because the coils have to be under a load.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You are about 4 weeks away from having a problem with your coil when its dry or wet. The wet failure is indicative of a failing coil.

What I recommend is to go buy a replacement coil now, online, where you'll find one substantially less than at your local parts store or the dealer.

Hopefully it's one of the front coils. You'll swap that out in no time.

If it's the back one...it'll test your mechanical abilities.
